Software Engineer, ML Platform

How you will make an impact

• Build a customer-facing platform for managing data, training models, and operating multiple deployed robotic systems
• Develop backend services for dataset management, training orchestration, model versioning, and deployment
• Build systems for registering, configuring, monitoring, and coordinating edge devices across customer sites
• Support both CarbonSix-managed cloud deployments and secure on-premise installations
• Design reliable APIs, asynchronous job systems, storage pipelines, and monitoring infrastructure
• Work across product, ML, robotics, and infrastructure teams to bring robot-learning workflows into production

What we are looking for

• Strong backend development experience using Python or a comparable language
• Experience building APIs, database-backed services, and asynchronous processing systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with cloud storage, compute resources, networking, authentication, and access control
• Ability to design systems that operate reliably across both cloud and on-premise environments
• Strong debugging and system-design skills

Nice to have

• Experience building ML platforms, training pipelines, model registries, or GPU-based workloads
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based job orchestration and infrastructure as code
• Experience with enterprise on-premise deployments, data isolation, and security requirements
• Experience managing edge devices, robot fleets, or distributed hardware
• Familiarity with robotics or manufacturing systems
